Flowers Over the Door, a photo from Limousin, Central

Photographer's Note

As you would expect in an old village like Ségur-le-Chateau, there are a number of doors worthy of being photographed. This one particularly struck my eye because of the interesting carving and the tones of the woodwork. There was the additional bonus of the vine and the colourful geraniums suspended over the top.

Hi Stephen,
This one is just fantastic. I love photos of doors and this door is superb. The flowers and pots surrounding the door add a lot of appeal to the photo. The grain of the wood on the door and the iron work above the door are just glorious. The image is also very sharp. Excellent, thank you so much for sharing.

Nice composition with the old door surrounded by colourful flowers. This kind of subject is one of my favourites since it reminds me of old times.

Lovely door, I like the touches of colors given by the flowers. The texture of the wood is really strange: you can't say wether the door was painted and the paint faded or time and weather simply polished the wood.

it's the type of doorway you would dream of coming home to at night. The lovely geraniums adding a wonderful splash of colour with a fantastic creeping wisteria type shrub and the textures iof the door. Just lovely,

this door looks very turkish to me:) may be a bit Greek as well. May be that why our culture is mixed.

Number 21 is charmed with a magnificent old doorway that you have wonderfully captured here. The contrasting colors of the flower and the marvelous old vine highlight the incredible details of this beautifully designed door.
