A bit less visited but very beautiful castle in Sully sur Loire. It is charming place, the castle rises directly from the moat. I have already posted the most known view from the side of water, but I liked also this wooden charming bridge.
As I wrote earlier, I was the only visitor in this castle inside. There are some nice interiors that have never been shown here, even by Didi. You can see them in Workshop.
The château is the seat of the duc de Sully, Henri IV's minister Maximilien de Béthune (1560–1641), and the ducs de Sully. It is a true castle, built to control one of the few sites where the Loire can be forded. In 1218, Philip Augustus constructed a cylindrical keep to the south of the present enclosure, of which buried foundations remain. Guy de la Trémoille, inheriting the fortress, undertook the construction of the "Donjon", flanked by four towers, beginning in 1395. Sully bought the domaine in 1602, enlarged the park and the fortress; he strengthened the embankments of the Loire to protect the town from occasional flooding.
The Château de Sully-sur-Loire remained in the possession of the family until 1962 when it became a property of the Département du Loiret, and has since benefited from numerous restorations. It hosts a classical music festival each June. The château contains numerous tapestries (including a set of six seventeenth-century hangings, the Tenture de Psyché).
I was not possible to have the tops of the tower and its reflection because of the trees. When I had the on etop then the other was more cut.

Hello MAlgo ,
This perspective is splendid , too . I like the framing by the green branches . The reflections are fantastic . A pitty that it is not possible to get the top of the tower .

Hello MAlgo :)
Lovely tranquil view with the clear reflection in the still water. Excellent composition with perfect framing of the beautiful castle. Your note is both informative and interesting.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice Sunday...

I obviously missed this when we were visiting the Loire. It is a truly beautiful chateau and you have captured its fine appearance in duplicate!
I like your use of the surrounding vegetation both to frame the shot and provide a good sense of depth.
It is a pity you were not able to capture the upper point of the turret but still, a most pleasing shot.
Have a great Sunday,

This viewpoint is very attractive and I like the graphism added by the wooden bridge and its reflections. The stone wall, the detail of which is beautifully rendered, coming in from the right makes an excellent lead-line. Ideally exposed and with superb colours and clarity. This is a subject you could try using a stitch on to take in the whole of the subject; if you use Photoshop, it is really quite easy. In any event, it is a delightful photograph; thanks for sharing.

Superb shot of this typical château from the Loire valley. The château in itself is picture perfect, like right out of a fairy tale book, but with the perfect reflection added, it is simply gorgeous. But then, the Loire valley is of corse a photographers dream.
Hope your Magnolia will come in full bloom soon now, mine are almost out already.
have a great sunday

A beautiful castle that you visited on what seems to have been a lovely day. The reflections are fantastic. It's just slight pity that you couldn't get the entire tower. Well, such things happen. The overhanging branches frame the view perfectly.
I only noticed today that you had added a WS to your Kerala photo recently. But what on earth made you think I travelled through the backwaters in that kind of canoe? ;-). I used an ordinary passenger boat, not really big but enough for maybe 100 persons, sitting on wooden benches like in a bus. :-)

What a place and what an incredible reflection to boot. You composed this beautifully, I love that the castle is to one side, and by peering out from below the trees, it feels like we are looking at a vry secret place. I am amazed at how clear this reflection is, it truly is like a mirror. Excellent post, thanks for sharing.

Ciao e buona settimana

A very beautiful castle with its round towers and the pointed roofs.
The colours and the clarity of the reflections are stunning!
That bridge and its reflection adds an attractive graphical effect.
Best regards, Paul

Podoba mi sie ta architektura, a jeszcze bardziej lokalizacja. Fosa i drewniany most prowadzacy do zamku bardzo dodaja uroku calosci.

Pozdrowienia, udanej podrozy!

Witaj, querida amiga Malgo,
in spite of the problem of the tops of the tower, this composition is very pleasant at sight, because of the beauty of this architecture, and the mirror effect of the water, with a fantastic reflections of the ensemble.
A very sharp image, a good light, and a few nice colors, it's a great work.
photoray (13981) 2014-04-01 17:40
Excellent "Doppelganger" view of Sully sur Loire in the mirror water, with the classical cone towers dominating, and the wood geometrics from the bridge, plus the rock wall.
PS: A hotel/casino in Las Vegas copied the front architecture of this castle for its appearance.

Very beautiful indeed, the castle and your photo! The reflection on the calm water is so perfect. Beautiful light and details!
