Tonight – a break away from the most famous and most visited chateaus of the Loire. St-Aigan sits on the Cher River well up the valley to the south of Chenonceaux. The town is quite attractive and sprawls up the hill from the river. A couple of years ago I posted a photo of a fascinating house in the town where there was a massive collection of blue objects on the outside walls of the house. At the top of the hill is a Renaissance Chateau (closed to the public). It was built on the remains of a medieval castle and doesn’t seem overly uniform in design but certainly has an interesting exterior mix of textures.

Very nicely presented the old bridge, and nice buildings. Everything is in pretty pastel colors. The picture is very nicely composed and captured with good POV.

Nice photo of 3 layers: river with bridge, houses and as 3thd the castle. Nice soft pastell colours. I like the haziness and the rainclouds in th BG. Good composition.

The castle is impressive and architecturally unique.
Superb setting and excellent detail and light despite the cloudy day.

Hi Ian, Good composition with interesting flowing water as foreground element. The textures of the brick wall and the bluish tones are what appeals to me. TFS. Murray

Hi Ian, a well-composed scene here, made unique by the wild waters in the FG and the threatening skies overhead. The contrast and colour look really good despite the overcast conditions. Great job, enjoy your Thursday, Lisa

I really like this one!
The sky was cloudy and grey, but the sun you had on those buildings and the bridge - beautiful architectural details - was very welcome to create a very attractive picture, with wonderful contrasts, brightness and colors!
Sharpness, pov, dof and composition are all excellent here too!
TFS - congratulations!
