Abbaye Saint Pierre
The abbey of Preuilly-on-Claise is visible by far with its curious arrow covered with glazed tiles which point out Burgundy more. Of Romance style of the eleventh century, the building was the subject of an important restoration to the nineteenth century. On this catch of sight, we can admire on the frontage Is the central absidial chapel.

thsi time weather was not too generous but still you managed to accomplish an interesting result - the greenery as the "basement" for the composition indicates that you feel comfortable as a photographer in numerous situations,

Bonjour Philippe,
C'est la énième église que tu postes sur TE Philippe,et toujours pour notre plus grand plaisir bien sur!Cette abbatiale est de toute beauté et cette vue rapprochée nous montre bien tous les détails de cette magnifique architecture.
Le cadrage est parfait comme d'habitude,avec les arbres à gauche qui apportent une note verdoyante dans la composition.
Encore un bon travail cher Philippe.

Vendredi et deja la Papagolfade dominicale ? Ah non j'oubliais, toi tu peux en poster chaque jour ;-)
Pas des masses de lumiere ce jour la et sur celle la mais les structures de cette belle architecture parviennent quand meme a contraster assez pour ressortir sur le vert. C'est vrai que ca fait assez bourguignon ce toit decore, c'est joli.

Nice photo, Philippe, I like how the old abbey is making a discrete appearance behind the green treetops. Very well contrasted and with a good color tonality even in the overcast weather. The flying bird is a good addition. Have a nice weekend.

I think France and Engalnd have the best churches in the world and this is a beautifully simple and atmospheric composition of the abbey and I like the frame of the trees on the right. A lovely capture Phillipe.

The architecture is wonderful and quite unusual with the two circular parts (I think they are called apses?)the pyramid roof with pretty tiles is unusual too. I like the way you composed it with the partial border of trees, and as a change from the blue skies of your recent posts we have an English sky :)I like the detail of the bird too.

J'aime beaucoup cette prise de vue qui ne nous montre pas l'entiereté de l'édifice.
Les couleurs sont belles et la lumière agréable.
Joli contraste entre la végétation et les pierres.

Salut Philippe,
This seems a lot bigger than the usual small churches that you showed previously. And also looks not so old, may be because of the important restoration that it suffered. It's hard to belleive that this is from 11th century!
Beautiful sight from down here, with a dificult light to manage, but a nice dramatic sky to contrast with, as a background. I love the austere volumes and the classic details of the façades. And you got a bird, as a bonus, hehehe.

Bonjour, mon ami Philippe,
Beau cadrage celui que tu as choisi pour nous montrer cette jolie abbaye. Il a un style architectonique très élégant, et sa tour avec le splendide toit de couleurs est précieuse.
J'aime la végétation de la paroi et l'arbre en donnant un bon contraste vert avec le bâtiment.
Le jour n'était pas très agréable pour marcher, mais cela ne t'a pas empêchée de prendre cette bonne photo, avec un ciel impressionnant, et avec le détail d'une colombe en volant au-dessus de tout l'ensemble, comme un symbole joli de la paix qui est toujours nécessaire dans le monde.

Has logrado enmarcar este bello edificio con unos colores bellos, el verde de la vegetación y el intenso contraste del cielo favorecen la expresividad de la imagen, es una ventaja fotografiar sin Sol, se pierde intensidad pero la calidad de las luces aumenta, felicidades.

Hi Philippe. That looks like a good sized building and your close POV didn't affect your ability to fit this scene in comfortably. Also the shadows have been sufficiently lightened to allow us to see full detail in there.

Un toit bourguignon en pays de Loire, voilà qui vaut le déplacement. Je retiens cet abbaye pour de future excapades.
Cette lumière difuse avec ce ciel lourd et menaçant ajoute au mysticisme du lieu.

A great shot and quite a good angle too. I like the foliage running across the bottom of the shot. It acts as a good foreground interest, and contrasts well with the abbey. The colour of the building and its details are well brought out in your shot and the focus is excellent. A very good work.

Hi Philippe,
Well composed and appreciated from this low angle POV. I like the clarity of detail here, with fascinating facade features to enjoy. The designers and restorers of the abbey did a first rate job and were quite original in their design concepts. Despite a lack of sunlight on the structure, it is well seen and the textured, threatening sky creates a special ambience. Well captured, Philippe. Amicalement.

Wonderful architecture you show again...I like the semicircular shape of the frontage with the pyramidal roof The tiles on the roof is very interesting...only hoped you got better light here. And I also like how you've used the hedge in the FG to frame the marvellous Abbey

Sans préjuger de sa taille cette collégiale serait digne de Rome. L'architecture ici est remaquable, grandiose et la photo bien équilibrée dans cet angle lui donne beaucoup de beauté.
