Photographer's Note

Following the balloon festival in Olivet.
The takeoff moment is very important in summer.
Early in the morning after sunrise or early evening before sunset because the journey is not favorable at midday because of the heat.
For safety reasons the trip may be canceled if wind speed is more than 20 Km / h

C'est ce qu'on appelle un moment décisif...où l'appréhension est bien là. Les conditions semblaient parfaites pour le vol et la lumière idéale pour le photographe.

Conditions seem perfect for a hot air balloon and for taking a picture as well! An excellent close-up shot on the basket, enhanced by very good colours and the lovely warm light. A belated Happy New Year 2013.

An excellent closeup shot of the gondola here, Didi, with good action among the passengers and nice direct lighting. The shadows cast over the basket and the balloon both are lovely, and the clear blue sky behind them a perfect backdrop. Very nicely done - were you yourself in a balloon when this was taken?

le netteté de cette image est formidable, ayant en considération la prise avec le 300mm.
J'aime le cadrage serré et la composition explicite sur les gens dans le panier de la montgolfière, ainsi que la grande luminosité et la beauté des couleurs de la composition.

Hello Didi,

WE often see shots of hot air balloons but I don't remember too many which shows the human element. The co-operation comes over clearly in this very well composed and exceedingly interesting shot.

Bonsoir Didi,
a very effective cropping gives a well balanced view of the nacelle and the bottom of the balloon as well as the feeling of rising up in the air. There's superb sharpness that makes the view pleasing, lighting and contrasts are wonderful. I like very much the play of light and shadow and the smile on the gentleman's face while waving to someone on the ground. Congratulations and thank you!

La montgolfière est bien placée dans le cadrage. la prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de la nacelle. La bonne luminosité donne de belles teintes aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

A wonderful photograph which is so much more full of detail in your larger version than it is here on TE!

The plain background of clear blue sky adds to the impact of the image and the strong lighting and colours are superb. Exquisite sharpness and detail despite the very long focal length.

Bonjour Didi,
Each of the fly-mates is looking to a different direction and are occupoied with something else during the take-off of the bloon.
I'd give more picture space to the baloon itself, becouse this is the main attraction on such photo.
But this would be my preference only. Clarity and colors are under super bright daylight.

On dirait bien que les festivals de montgolfières prennent de plus en plus de popularité ces dernières années. J'ai même fait une envolée avec un aérostier qui venait de Toulouse cet automne. C'est toujours aussi beau de les voir s'élever dans le ciel.

Une capture différente de ton style, mais tres creative, puisque tu l as prise d en bas, pas de paysaje au fond mais le bleu ciel
En plus la netteté de l imagen permet de voir les actitudes des voyageurs, même il y a un qui salue

An excellent close up of the air balloon already rising up into the atmosphere - I would be petrified to go in an air balloon.

Je n'ai jamais volé un ballon, ce qui est dommage car il doit être une expérience formidable. La paix et la tranquillité, et cette hauteur, et au-dessus une énorme boule colorée. Cela a dû être cool. Grande couleur et une grande netteté.

I love the balloon festivals and here you propose a very artistic interpretation. Excellent close up, beautiful strong colours and superb details. The tight framing on the carriage rather than the balloon itself is exquisite.

jolie capture sur cette nacelle et ses passagers avec une image aux belles couleurs de fin de journée et d'un excellent piqué.
Au moins elle n'est pas aussi surchargée comme le fut celle qui causa ce drame à Luxor.

Quand j'ai vu l'accident en Egypte, ca m'a refroi questionvoyage en ballon, et ca m'a fait penser à toi, pour plusieurs raisons...!
La proximité est impressionnante et donne un excellent impact visuel, surtout sur ce ciel immaculé

Superbe gros-plan sur la nacelle de la Montgolfière. Les détails colorés contrastent bien avec le bleu infini du ciel !
Il y a ceux qui s'intéressent à la mécanique et celui qui salue les gens d'ici-bas.
