The Winds of Autumn
by Nicholas Alan Tillemans
The vicarious autumn winds
Shook leaves of brilliant hues
From the trees to take them
Whirling into solitude.
"Why?" I pleaded, staring up at the sky,
"Why must the winter come?"
But there was no reply,
Only silence in the sun.
"Where is the warmth that drove
The passion now stranding me, hounded
By memories inclined to grope
At a heart that once resounded
Of a living dream?"
Not a whisper, no reply
But in a tree's
Twist into sky...
A beauty's brilliance stoked
By the winds that stripped away
A canopy that cloaked
Its branching out to reach the day

bonjour Philippe,

Bonsoir Philippe. I like the framing you made, with the church just placed in the perfect free area amidst the variety of vegetation which is framing it so nicely. The way in which the reflection is partially hidden by the floating leaves is nice, too. I like the painterly feel you achieved with your stronger-than-usual post processing.

This is a very different church, a "sweet" one maybe and the way, you've photographed this one, is really nice, a lot of natural framing and a foreground of a lake, beautiful !
(later see more of your "new" pics, my dear friend....)

I'm not sure how you achieved this effect but it is wonderful -- very artistic! Very nice point of view and I do like that little spot of bright green grass.

Hi Philippe,
What a grand scene you have given us here! Alhtough it seems the lighting was a little harsh, you have transformed this into a painting. There is a hard to define brittleness to the shot which is perhaps related to your note. The reflection is so subtle and appealing. This is fine work with a surreal atmosphere.
