To The River

Fair river! in thy bright, clear flow
Of crystal, wandering water,
Thou art an emblem of the glow
Of beauty- the unhidden heart
The playful maziness of art
In old Alberto's daughter;
But when within thy wave she looks
Which glistens then, and trembles
Why, then, the prettiest of brooks
Her worshipper resembles;
For in his heart, as in thy stream,
Her image deeply lies
His heart which trembles at the beam
Of her soul-searching eyes.

What a serene moment of nature here, Philippe. The way the light falls in between the trees and creates this reflection is captured very well. I also like the strong green patch of grass in front. Great idea to use the E.A.Poe poem as a note here - he seems to have written it with your picture in mind ;-)

En ce qui concerne la photo, il s'agit encore d'un paysage champêtre où vous semblez aimer passer beaucoup de temps... La composition et les couleurs sont parfaites. Bravo!

Very nice composition and natural framing of trees. I like the way the green carpets the bottom of the picture. The reflection on the water is alos very well-seen. This is a VERY good picture. Simpler that your other shots but more visually appealing.

La composition est bonne, avec cette herbe bien saturée.
Cependant, je note, quelques différences de tons au niveau de l'echelle des gris sur le ciel.
Alors bravo pour le poème tout en vous souhaitant d'avoir un rossignol dans une de vos prochaînes composition.

Joli reflet dans cette eau calme, on s'imagine allongé sur l'herbe à l'ombre des arbres à écouter le rossignol et entendre se plaindre les tourtelles.

Très bon travail.

J'aime bien le workshop de carper car il donne une impression d'espace à cette image (on ne se sent pas serré entre les arbres)

Hi Philippe. I think it is entirely unfair that you get to live in a part of the world that offers so many amazing photo opportunities ; )

Once again another gorgeous shot. The very green grass really adds some nice life with the leafless winter trees not showing much colour. The reflection of the trees in the river is great. The poem is a nice touch. Well done!

An excellent shot, Philippe, and thank you for including the poem - it's made a nice start to my day. I love the rich green colour of the river bank in amongst all the darker colours. The reflection of the trees, along with the reflected blue sky, is very beautiful. Well seen and composed.

Les arbres avec ces verticales encadrent la composition et nous suivons avec plaisir cette rivière et son eau si calme. Une atmosphère paisible d'hiver qui contraste fortement avec cette rive qui se dessine dans un vert profond un peu étrange. Le conte de fée et la légende ne sont pas loin.

I love colors and here is a great color. The green is so green. It's perfect. The trees are beautiful against it. Great reflection in the river. And I love trees and all those tangled branches going off at every angle really adds a lot of life to these trees. Very tranquil, though, as it is calm energy. The poem and the photograph's mood really match, also. Nicely done all around.

Bonjour Philippe,

La rivière dirige notre regard au loin, les réflections dans l'eau sont un atout à la composition. La luminosité fait ressortir les couleurs. Il y a un bon contraste entre les couleurs. Un endroit pour profiter de sa tranquillité et relaxer. Bonne journée.
