Sunday at the edge of the loing

The canal of Loing, 49.437 km in length, connects the canal of Briare ( Montargis) to the Seine (Saint Mammès), via Loing (between Moret and Saint Mammès). Its hillside is 38 metres adjusted by 19 locks. The draft is 1.80 m approximately, the headroom 3,50, and allows the navigation of barges of 38 m of length, 5 m of wide, which could carry 30 tons (barges said in the " standards Freyssinet ") in a vistesse of 6 kph.

Voila un joli petit coin de détente. Le reflet de la vegetation dans l'eau est superbe. La profondeur est tres bien mis en valeur par ce chemin que l'on a envie de parcourir.

Tu fais dans le cours d'eau comme John ! Le tien est plus halé :)) rondouillard et paisible. Son environnement moins nordique, tout en délicatesse.
J'aime bien les couleurs et le chemin de halage placé en continu sur la droite.

I like the composition but it seems to me that the surface of the water is falling to the left, maybe it's just me. Nice peaceful scene.

Ce n'est pas si "loing"(*) de chez moi, j'attends avec impatience les beaux jours.
Je ne connais pas cette partie du Canal qui est très intéressante à photographier avec le ciel qui se miroite à la surface.

Le point de vue au raz de l'eau est bien vu, tout comme la reflexion du ciel .

J'ai fait un WS pour donner un peu de tonus aux couleurs et un petit coup de barre à droite.

Nice scenery. The lines are beautiful, they give a very good perspective. The reflection is good. The colours are good, but I have the feeling that there is some red missing. Did you decrease the red? Good note and thanks for sharing!

Une belle vue pleine de profondeur, un peu sombre a mon gout mais qui nous offre une tres belle reflection, l'effet optique produit par toutes les lignes se reunissant au bout de la perspective est aussi tres reussi.

However, I wait already long for of the beautiful canals in France. A beautiful photo middle in the summer, with very great reflections and a wonderful perspective because of the path on the right side.
I agree with tityop, indeed the photograph slope a little to left, but splendid picture Philippe!

Tu alternes les décors en ce moment, la nature te réussis aussi très bien. Pour preuve, cette image d'un coin pas trop... loing, paisible, avec cette rivière qui reflète un ciel plus bleu qu'il n'est ;-)) et ce banc qui n'attend que moi pour m'assoir et profiter du charme de l'endroit.
Bonne profondeur d'image et excellent cadrage.

The reflection maes a nice effect with the curved path, the perspective of the rows of trees on both side and the dark part of the canal. It's a bit darker than your usual setting, but it makes a very nice mood. Welll done, Philippe.

Hello Philippe. Good perspective and a nice mirror effect with this view along the canal. A very inviting-looking setting with the beautiful park extending along the water. The blue color channel seems a little dominant in this one, but the overall result is still very tranquil and appealing.

Hi Philippe,
Interesting picture. It good have been here in the neighbourhood. Sharp reflection. In the WS I copped the picture to a square scene. The right part of the picture is not the most interesting for me so I want some more attention to the channel. It’s a pity that the sky is a little bit over-exposed. Now it has not the same intensity as the reflection. I did try to improve it in the WS but that was rather difficult.

the low shooting angle here is most excellent. the depth in this shot is extraordinary as it feels like the canal goes on forever. the smooth water with the nice reflections is a nice bonus. nice detaied info in the note too. good work!

La courbe du chemin de halage participe à l'harmonie de l'ensemble. Ce paysage est d'une grande sérénité, c'est une vue très reposante et calme. On en a bien besoin dans ce monde souvent en fureur.
