Cruise on a barge on the Cher river with passage under the castle of Chenonceau.
On this heat day, we embarked on the Belandre, barge which sails on the Cher river, destination the castle of Chenonceau; the passage will be done here.

The Cher river takes its source at Merinchal in the "Creuse" department. It is the affluent who joins the left bank of the Loire downstream from Tours at Villandry. 350 km length, it is the longest affluent of the Loire; its depth is low, it varies between 1,20 and 1,50 meters. The navigable part requires flat-bottomed boats .
Until the 19th century the barges transported the micaceous chalk stone and the porcelain. To be able to circumvent the "pin weir" it is necessary to cross the lock of Chisseaux, the difference in level of water is about 80 cm.
