Photographer’s Note

Notre-Dame of Chartres is a gothic cathedral dedicated to the Holy Mary, dating from the XIIIe century. In 1979, she was the first monument listed on Unesco's World Heritage.
Its stained glasses are well preserved and are famous thanks to their colors, and in particular the bleu of Chartres which is universally known.
Here, this part of the cathedral is an extension : the conference room of the abbey, surmounted by the vault Saint Piat.

Bonsoir Karine,
tu ne t'es pas trompée en prenant la cathedrale de Chartres, elle est superbe. Ton image est très intéressante sur cette partie et permeet d'apprécier l'architecture. Belle image à laquelle il manque peut être un peu d'accentuation. Bravo.

A very nice architectural shot, I like the soft tones and lighting here, it gives the picture an air of peace tranquility. You have also framed that window nicely with that off-centered archway.

Original point de vue pour une cathédrale monumentale... J'avoue honteusement ne pas connaître le "Bleu de Chartres" et grâce à toi je vais y remédier.

Hi Karine,
Well composed of high impact in this large format. I like the framing in the foreground with the arch, the shrub and the view through the portals to the magnificent windows and facade beyond. This is like a secret garden, a quiet place for contemplation. The prevailing beige and green hues blend together well for a harmonious effect. Well captured, Karine.

Salut Karine,
C'est peut-être un peu triste que tu n'aies pas eu un peu de soleil lors de ta prise de vue, d'un autre côté,ce temps un peu plombé et la mousse qui couvre les pierres (sans doute une façade exposée au nord???) donnent un aspect romantique et presque britanique!
J'aime beaucoup ton cadrage, les arches devant apportent de la légèreté.

C'est une belle photo, trés bien composée, ou l'architecture de la cathédral de Notre Dame, nous apporte beaucoup de beaux détailles.
Peu être tu aurais pu augmenté un peu la 'sharpness' de la photo mais les détailles sont de toute forme très bon.
