Photographer’s Note

After showing the main facade and the view from above it's time to show the interior of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres.
The Cathedral is considered one of the finest examples in all France of the Gothic style of architecture and the stonework is quite impressive, particularly the choir screen, which curves around the ambulatory, depicting scenes from the lives of Christ and the Virgin. Its sculptor, Jehan de Beauce, was also responsible for the design of the Flamboyant Gothic north spire.
This photos shows a detail of that artwork around the ambulatory. I liked this angle because of the stained glass seen in the background, framed by the structure of the ambulatory. I was experimenting high iso for the first time. In this particularly shot I could have used a lower iso but I wanted to see the results with iso 1600.

WS1 - Detail of stained glasses behind me on this POV.

WS2 - Perspective of the ambulatory with a couple admiring the stonework.
