Photographer’s Note

Johannes wanted to see a full size version, so after having shown it in RED, here's a blue version of the Chartres gothic Papagolfade under the summer light show, enjoy it as neither green nor yellow will be presented, details on facebook ;-)

Olá JY, if you asked me before I would never say that the blue version could be so good as the red one, because of the contrast with the sky, but I see here I was wrong. The blue sky tranformed into dark and now the cathedral seems made of ice. Cool picture. I wonder how this show of light would look like from the top of the tower... ;-)

Wahouu ! Elle est superbe cette cathédrale dans cette livrée bleue. A défaut de bleu hour, tu nous offres un très belle blue papagolfade. Une teinte assez inhabituelle qui donne une réellement bonne impression. J'aime beaucoup.

Bonjour, cher Jean-Yves,
Lorsqu'on rêve tout seul, ce n'est qu'un rêve alors que lorsqu'on rêve à plusieurs c'est déjà une réalité.
Un bien joli rêve bleu. C'est amusant et curieux de voir la cathédrale prendre des formes d'un tableau contemporain.
Photo difficile à réaliser avec les échafaudages en cours.
La maîtrise est bien présente à travers cette composition.

Après ta célèbre blue hour, voici la blue cathedral !
Jolie cette version, plus douce que la rouge ;o)
C'est très bien rendu, les détails de la façade sont distincts, on aperçoit même la rosace (les échafaudages aussi !)

You and Ricardo have both posted images from Chartres Cathedral today. It's difficult to say which I prefer: the red or the blue version. The red had the benefit of the blue hour sky, but the black sky works well as a background for the blue. It's a good job I don't have to choose. It must be wonderful to ssee this in reality.
I love your wine cooler! I prefer red wine so I would have to get used to it at the wrong temperature, or better still; keep out of the snow and stay warm indoors! ;D

Salut la Terreur des lumières
Ben dis donc ! Le système d'éclairage à beaucoup évolué en deux ans, va falloir que j'y retourne.
A l'heure de prise de vue, je constate qu'il y a pas un chat qui gêne le champ.
Je trouve ça excellent, mais c'est aussi le portail Nord mon favori.

Frankly, the cathedral looks hideous in that color! It is a fascinating shot, though, and all the hideousness comes through in great clarity and detail. :-)

We haven't decided whether to visit Chartres this October, but if we do, I will make sure it's in the daytime!

PS: I do have to admit that the more I look at it, the more it grows on me. I'm not sure what that says about the cathedral. Or about me.

Ca lui va vraiment bien cette couleur bleue,à la cathédrale de Chartres!Et j'aime come elle ressort sur le ciel bien noir!Les autres parlent des échaffaudages,je ne les aurais pas vu tant ils se fondent dans les graphismes donnés par la projection!Magnifique!

C'est curieux de voir l'aspect étrange pris par cette cathédrale "teinte" en bleu. L'avantage c'est que cela permet d'effacer un peu les échafaudages mais j'avoue la préférer au naturel.
Je vois que tu ne manques pas une occasion pour promouvoir le vin d'Alsace -)

It looks like the whole Cathedral turned to stained glass. I wish they would do something similar in Tampere. Smaller buildings with normal illumination give nice point of comparison.

here I am to check this very attractive shot. The light effect is really amazing. Well executed composition. The exposure was well managed and the details are really good...maybe it's the first time I see stars as they are: white dots in the sky. Very good one!

Wow, this is a different look for this famous cathedral, withthe blue colour really giving the photo a different feel. To me, this looks like an iceberg or glacier, with the deep blue ice. Very interesting!

On peut partager ta choix de comprendre dans l'image un morceau de la silhouette de l'arbre.
