Photographer’s Note

In border of the forest of Orlêans, in the middle of the village, the castle of The Luzerne is a manor house of the end-Renaissance, at the beginning of the XVIIth.
It is the typical French place of residence. Roofs are in slates with a tower in every angle.
All the windows have an open view on the park.
(The former house of the Cardinal of the Luzerne and the Count of the Luzerne, the Minister of Louis XV).

Halo Philippe!
Here you have had a difficult light indeed ... but you managed it skillfully. The architecture of this castle somehow looks a bit "elegant" caused by it's vertical red lines. The light in this picture fo me nearly is the main character; very interesting!

Bonjour mon ami Philippe,
Pour notre plus grand plaisir (des yeux!), après la tournée des églises, on a celle des châteaux, (est-ce la tournée des grands ducs?)
Effectivement comme le souligne Nicole, tu as tout à fait maîtrisé les jeux d'ombres et de lumières ce qui n'a pas dû être facile.
J'apprécie assez ce cadrage où une belle part est laissée à gauche à la verdure.

Let me ask something. How many chateaux/palaces have you taken on photo? Another thing I did notice in your map of France is that the south in not represented in your collection and I am wondering why.

Très belle présentation de cet endroit, le cadrage est très bon et bien équilibré pour nous présenter le chateau dans son environnement. De belles lignes directrices notament avec ce muret, qui nous guide vers le chateau et le parc derrière, tout en donnant de la profondeur à la composition.
De belles couleurs automnale qui contraste avec ce beau ciel bleu.

Encore une belle photo d'un des petits bijoux du patrimoine national. J'aime beaucoup la gestion de la lumière qui met bien en valeur l'architecture du château. L'environnement végétale qui commence à prendre ses couleurs d'automne donne un bon contraste. Une composition très esthétique et intéressante, merci Philippe.

Il n'était pas commode à attraper ce manoir ainsi tapi dans l'ombre . Les pièges de l'exposition déjoués , nous pouvons admirer cette élégante architecture dans son écrin végétal aux tons chatoyants. Une vue limpide d'un cadre splendide.

Celui-ci est curieux, je trouve avec ces deux niveaux, un peu comme s'il avait été entouré d'eau ce qui ne va pas avec son style. Il est très beau et cette jolie lumière le met bien en valeur. J'aime ce cadrage qui donne l'impression de le découvrir après un tournant de la route.

Mostly it is preferable to have the main object of the scene in the bright sunlight, but this picture proves that there are exceptions. The blue-ish shadow on the white façade is the perfect performance in the sunny and multi-coloured garden.

le POV pour nous montrer ce chateau est très beau!J'aime le chemin et son muret qui le contourne,les arbres aux belles couleurs automnales qui l'entourent!Le soleil fait éclater les couleurs du parc et donne un aspect si chaleureux et si gai ,qu'on oublie que la façade du chateau est dans l'ombre!La photo n'en est même que plus jolie,car cette ombre adoucit les couleurs vives de la végétation!Magnifique!

Salut Philippe. Changé d'églises en châteaux? La lumière n'est pas idéale (façade en ombre / mon avis personnel) mais par contre les ombres sur la terre donnent bcp de contraste et ceci combiné avec les belles couleurs font que c'est une composition de grande qualité comme on en est habitué de toi.

Voilà un château très élégant, j'aime le côté un peu austère de la présentation (et du bâtiment), les couleurs sont très belles et naturelles, - le fait que les volets du RDC soient fermés indique qu'il ne doit probablement plus être habité en permanence et j'aime imaginer que certains jours malgré tout, il doit bruisser d'activités et de cris d'enfants lors de grandes réunions de famille - mais mon imagination va sans doutes un peu loin !
