Here is a nice village that I saw along the Loire river between Tours and Angers at Vienne river junction.

Lovely photo Fred, what appeals to me the most here is how the past blends with the presence. You show us a beautifull medieval structures that survived hundreds of years, which are still full of live, as is indicated by flyers posted on the doors and the couple reading the menu on the right.
What IMO could have improve the image somewhat would be better light and some human presence in the foreground.

another good one fred, nice POV and composition, though may i would have clonded out the parking sign in the left side, gives away to old feel to this picture, well done though. good shot

Nous y étions avec Philippe et Clochette au mois d'avril dernier pour visiter le château de Montsoreau.
Je reconnais cette rue, mais le beau temps n'était pas au rendez-vous.
Le ciel n'est âs laiteux ce qui sigbifie que l'exposition est bien calculée et le rendu du tufeau de la pierre est correct.

Deze Auberge ziet er echt gezellig uit Fred, en op deze manier aanleunend aan de kerk, en dat er geen auto's en andere opstakels tezien zijn is een wonder, de hoek is prachtig waardoor er mooi diepten is ontstaan, mooie samenstelling en echte kleuren, goed werk opnieuw Fred!

I like the overall greyish setting in this compo Fred. The buildings is well captured agains the grey sky. Nice detail

très chouette ton cadrage avec ce dégradé de construction. Figure toi que j'y étais lundi dernier vers 13h avec un super soleil et ciel bleu. Mais là, tu as bien capté les couleurs à la fois de la pierre "beurrée" et de ses petits détails et du gris du ciel. Bon piqué.
Ce coin au bord de la Vienne est magnifique avec le château qui a presque les pieds dans l'eau. As tu été visiter la savonnerie qui n'est pas très loin. Un peu chère mais d'excellents produits naturels.

I like this complex of architecture details, it makes a very interesting puzzle, Fred. The light and contrast are terrific.
I also like the colorful mailboxes on the shop's door that bring life to this shot. Beautiful.

Très belles maisons anciennes construites en tuffeau (du moins, je le suppose) avec ces jolis toits moussus en ardoises. Intéressante architecture de ces appareillages en pierre taillée et d'assemblage de moellons de pierre de pays. J'aime ces maisons construites par nos aïeux avec des moyens simples (le fil à plomb n'était pas leur préoccupation première à voir les déformations des lignes verticales).
La composition est parfaite avec ce ciel ombrageux en arrière-plan.
Une très belle prise de vue, Fred.

Hi Fred! The houses do look very old, and the moody, dark sky makes you feel you're in a different time/era. A very fascinating shot and very interesting medieval architecture. Tks for sharing. rgds.

Indeed a charming medieval village. Nice to see old ruins constructed together with new stones. Looks like a place with nice atmosphere. I bet they have some nice restaurants and shops for tourist out there.

Bonjour Fred, on s'arreterait volontiers dans cette petite auberge sympathique, malgre le temps maussade ta photo offre une lumiere suffisante et un tres bon rendu des details de cette architecture typique utilisant les blocs de tuffeau des carrieres locales (j'avais oublie le nom, merci Philippe !).

Nice shot from the cozy-looking village, Fred. Composition-wise, I like that there are several elements rising from the left to the right, such as the rooflines and the stairs. You made the best out of the gloomy light, and I would say the details and textures are very well rendered. The two people reading the menu in front of the small restaurant at the right are a nice add.

Ces architectures sont bien mises en valaur dans ta composition et l'ensemble est plaisant à regarder.

This shot is like a travel in time Fred! Everything bring us back to time and only the small details around the frame remind us about the present! The moody light is excellent and the quality od the details and colors great! Very well done!
