Historical general information:
Origin of the name: "Brulilia", undergrowth. There was in 1537 a massacre remained famous. Old tradition of a pilgrimage with saint Loup. Depended on the diocese of the town of Sens with XVIIIème. Prehistoric vestiges and antiques: Gallo-Roman vestiges: armaments, ornaments, necropolis; site of the age of Iron. Civil architecture: Perched village. Traces of an old castle. Structure crowned: Church Saint-Loup XIIIème: bell-tower highest of the area, rebuilt partly at the XIXème century

Hi Philippe
Another nice presentation of a monumental church. It is always interesting to see this huge buildings and compare them to houses of the same age in the villages. I guess the priests really needed the large churches to 'show off' their importance in the community.
This one well captured on the hilltop, shot from the well considered low pov.

Elle est bien cette église et le point de vue bas renforce la simplicité et la pureté de ses lignes d'architecture et la propulse vers le ciel (c'est ce qu'on doit pouvoir attendre d'un édifice religieux).
Bien positionné aussi par rapport à la piece de verdure.

Another nice one from you monumental architecture series. You always enhance it with nice good notes. This shot too, the green boundary, the roof tops of the church and the clean sky are well covered to give the snap an extra ambiance. Well done. Friendships to you too.

Wonderful composition of this Roman church. I love angles of buildings from beneith and this got very nice, with the sight of those trees and greenery in foreground. The church has a very interesting architecture and seems to have a gorgeus tower. Very good lighting and colours. The soft blue colour of the sky, works very well in this harmonic picture with a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere.

une prise de vue qui me rappelle un peu celle que j'ai faite il y a une bonne année maintenant, de l'église de Saint Jean Sart en Belgique ici visible.

This low angle view of the church is ideal for portraying the structure, with generous framing of shrubbery in the foreground. I like the clarity of the image, as one can appreciate the natural tones and hues of the exterior. Good lighting and fine cropping for high impact.

Bonjour Philipe,

J'aime bien toutes vos photos d'églises surtout celles du XVIIème siècle et avant. Vous avez une de ces habilités inusitées à sélectionner l'angle de prise de vue idéal et à aller chercher ce petit détail qui donne une plus-value à l'ensemble. Je pense ici à une infime partie de la rue, au trottoir et enfin à l'entrée piétonnière juse assez discrète pour situer tout le complexe religieux. J'ignore si cela était pensé, ou planifié ou voulu, mais c'est jolimet bien réussi.

Meilleurs voeux pour 2006 et plein de belles images et/ou encouragements avant d'atteindre le record de 50000 petits bonhommes verts.

Une bonne prise de vue de l'église Saint-Loup, elle permet de voir le détail des pierres. La photo a une bonne composition, profondeur de champs et de belles couleurs. Bonne journée.
