Photographer's Note

Statue of Vercingetorix at sunset

2059 and a half years ago, Vercingetorix must have been looking very sad when contemplating the poor spectacle left behind after the terrible battle of Alesia.
Refugeed with about 80000 (hungry) men on the bute of what is nowadays Alise-Ste-Reine and notwithstanding the support received in extremis by warriors coming from all regions of Gaul... he couldn't resist and was defeated by the roman invader.
Cesar knew that day that a glorious come back to Rome was promised to him.

Our ancestors were certainly valiant but they were lacking the most elementary discipline and organisation... which was exactly the strong point of the Romans.

Union makes force (as said by Belgium's motto)... yes, but as long as we have a team spirit and not only think about the survival of our small tribe.
