Photographer’s Note

In Bourgogne in the department of Yonne, a group of men embarked on a strange adventure for 25 years: building a castle. The plans have been made by the chief architect of Historic Monuments: Jacques Moulin. Archaeologists and art historians provide the scientific monitoring.
Plans Castle Guédelon using guns architectural introduced by Philippe Auguste to XII and XII sc. Thirty-five craftsmen working on the site with the methods of medieval times. On the site, you attend to the construction by carriers, stone-cutters, masons, loggers, carpenters, blacksmiths, tailpieces, potters, etc. .. carters. Guédelon is intended to explain to many people as some construction techniques and use of certain materials used centuries ago.
The site is funded solely by the entries.
