Photographer’s Note

Here my 100th publication on TE. On this occasion I invite you to a voyage in the time which will be spread out over several photographs. I hope that you will like it.

Guédelon, an original idea:

to build a Strong Castle with materials and according to the methods of the 13th century.

Located in Puisaye (on the commune of Treigny), the Medieval Building site of Guédelon will make it possible to attend the construction of a Strong Castle, spread out over a score of years (beginning of work in 1997) the guided tour of the Building site proposes the observation and the explanation of work: techniques of construction and use of materials employed in 13th century.

To discover, in a "medieval environment" 35 workmen:
- carriers, stone cutters, stone masons: extract and assemble the ferruginous stone of Guédelon.
- loggers, carpenters: exploit and work the wood of the forest of Guédelon to produce the necessary scaffolding, formwork, doors and tools.
- the carters, the potters, the rope-makers, the basket makers, the blacksmiths produce the objects necessary to the life of tous.les.jours.
- also to see the village of the woodworkers, the stables, the livestock (sheep, goats, farmyard...).

C'est une photo nette et précise avec uncommentaire très fouillé pour cette 100e pour laquelle je te félicite.
Excellent cadrage et format, couleurs réchauffées, un excellent document sur l'artisanant d'il y a bien longtemps.

Hoi Guy,
Mijn aller gelukwensen voor uw honderste bijdrage op TE en de behaalde 1126 punten.
Ik vind dit een prachtig idee om daar een serie van te bekijken, dit spreekt mij enorm aan, ik heb daar boeken over maar het moet prachtig zijn om een rondleiding op die werf te krijgen. Uw foto laat mooie details zien van de werkwijze en de famueze heftoestellen uit deze tijd.
Worden er electrische toestellen gebruikt?
vermoedelijk niet door dat alles moet zijn zoals vroeger.

D'abord, félicitations pour avoir publié 100 photos, c'est au moins autant de possibilités de partages et de découvertes.
Comme d'habitude, ta note soignée est très intéressante. J'aime bien la composition où apparaît tout cet enchevêtrement d'échelles, de cordes, de toiles, quel chantier ! Bonne netteté et lumière.

Salut Guy, and bonne centième here on TE. A nice time travel in this photo of yours, with a good angle over the interesting old-time machinery on the construction site. Good exposure to render the variety of brown and ochre color tonalities. Interesting note, too.

Guy,
Thank you for starting this journey with us. I am looking forward to the trim. This is a good example of how TrekEarth can tell us so much about other peoples cultures. This photo has an old feel with the colours of the stone and the almost Medieval tent.

The note is also very good.

Etant remonte un peu en arriere j'ai decouvert que j'avais rate ta 100eme, "Vieux motard que j'aimais" mes felicitations !
Ca m'a permis aussi de decouvrir ce projet, je connaissais pas mais ca m'a l'air tres interessant, moi j'adore les chateaux medievaux. Ta photo est bien cadree pour une bonne composition detaillee et profonde. Ca m'a donne envie d'aller y faire un tour, en une doutaine d'annees je devrais pouvoir trouver un moment ;-)

Bonjour Guy
Je me prmets de t'indiquer un lien sur mon thème afin de comparer les différences de luminosité.
Tes conditions de lumières sont moins dures aux miennes.
Il faisait un temps sans nuages, mais le soleil frappait fort et mes images étaient plus contrastées.
Sur cette photo, le contraste est moindre et on observe les détails sur les parties ombrées.
Je constate que les travaux avancent mais trop lentement.

Un bon point de vue du chantier du château médiéval de Guédelon, la photo est claire et précise. Elle a une bonne composition et de belles couleurs. On distingue beaucoup de détails. Merci de partager.
