The city of Beaune in Burgundy surprises visitors with a light show on several buildings in the old town at night. These short, 5min, shows start out as simple illuminating but then changes to show the history of the particular building trough a series of animated slides. The slides perfectly mach the architecture of the building, using its special features for special effects. As the show is repeated several times, one can wander trough the city from building to building in a nice night time stroll. Here we see the Chapelle de St. Etienne de Beaune, among others are the Hospice de Dieu, the town hall, a belfry and the wine museum.

Wow! What a great idea! The colours and patterns look great on this building, it's hard to tell which elements are real and which are projected onto the walls.
Fine example of night photography.

This is a spectacular shot of what must have been quite a spectacular event at the time. Interesting too that the projected images reflect the history of each building in turn.
The vibrant colours on the facade of this building stand out beautifully against the black night sky, the colours of autumn leaves very much in keeping with the old architecture.
Fabulous vibrant colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

Impressive long exposure shot that lends itself perfectly with the dark sky, shadows, colourful lightshow and there is a wonderful assortment of tones and the architecture is beautiful too with good perspective. So different from the norm but I like the effect and it sounds like a good experience, really stands out there yet eerie!! You have captured the essence of the place glitz and glitter in this shot it looks spectacular, and by your description i can see it was. Great capture...

An remarkable picture. Looking at the thumbnail I wondered what it could be, but looking at the original I had to look twice before I figured it out. The marvellous contrast between the dark black background and the overgrown façade lets the picture looks like a painting of Arcimboldo .

What a brilliant idea for the town to put on this display, I imagine it would draw people from all over, I certainly would love to visit to see such a spectacle. You chose an excellent example to share too, this display is so unexpected on the surface of this building, it looks amazing. I particularly like the way it presents itself do well against the inky darkness behind.
Thanks for sharing.
P.S. love the title!

This is a most fascinating and unusual photo that really startled me. The colours are superb and the photo is perfectly exposed. The effects of the bright colours and shapes on the church are enhanced by the pitch black surroundings. This was really an old-fashioned slideshow of a different kind.

I like the idea of using the façade of the building as screen, in Las Vegas at the Fremont Experience they used the canopy as screen, very effective. Good capture of the image with nice details. Well done, tfs.

Magical night show, Nature encompassing the historical architecture, blending with man made attraction.
Would enjoy seeing the shows in person.

That is really a great idea and it creates a fantastic effect on the building - a big attraction, I'm sure! I like the colours and the contrast with the darkness a lot.
