Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken just behind the Basilique Beaune. The architecture here was very nice but the streets were narrow making it difficult to get a well lit shot.
Beaune is a commune in eastern France, a sub-prefecture of the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne region.
The area around Beaune, the Côte de Beaune, is known for its Burgundy wines, with Beaune (although lacking a Grand Cru vineyard within the commune) as the hub of the local wine business. Beaune is renown for its annual charity wine auction on behalf of the Hospices de Beaune.
It is situated on the route des Grands Crus tourist route among the vineyards. The road runs north from Beaune to Gevrey Chambertin and Nuits-Saint-Georges and south to Nolay, Saisy and Autun.

this French feeling is the taste in northern portion,
old houses are very nice to make me feel joyful atmosphere,

On dirait qu'il s'agit d'une image des années 50 ou 60 (mais il y a des voitures trop récentes..
Très beau portrait d'une ville tranquille dans une image qui a une belle nétteté et profondeur de cadrage.

Hello Asa,
The point of view is well chosen to take in as much of this lovely architecture as possible. The cobbled street makes a very attractive lead-in. Difficult to avoid the cars, which are, anyway, part of daily life in all French towns. Also, the brightly coloured car in the left foreground is quite jolly and makes a good contrast with the grey tones of the architecture. Well done, thanks for sharing.

The presence of the car is showing part of the daily activity. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the buildings. The picture is clear and sharp. The late afternnon light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Asa,
Yes, Beaune is certainly a very nice place, even if I consider the wine here a bit overpriced... We spent one week in Nolay some years ago, and got quite a good feeling of this town. A very nice capture here, the house with the green shutters looks fine!

Very nice old architecture in the town, with the shuttered windows open to let in some fresh air. The line of cars leads the eye to the arched windows which are very eye-catching with good light/shade contrast.

This is a typical village in France, the old cobblestones in the street together with thge old houses, real France.
Also a perfect perspective through the perfect choice of your angle, this make alone the picture attractive.
Nice composition and colours.

Lovely little French village seen in very flattering light.
The marvelous architecture is seen in sharp detail as it stands out nicely against the clear blue sky.
Love all the compact cars. Guess an SUV or giant pickup are few and far between.
