Photographer’s Note

At the dawn of the third millennium, the "Hospices of Beaune" constitute a single unit: the Hospital, element main of the inheritance of the city, does not play any more like formerly its role of reception, but remains a floret of Burgundy. Here, a sight of the Big room of the poor, with majestic dimensions (46,30 m length and 16 top), is supported by a vault in hull of ship. It shelters the layers of the patients, all covered of red, and directed towards the vault so that the boarders can follow the offices under the best possible conditions. While leaving the part, the eye is inevitably attracted by remarkable Christ with the bonds of XVe century, is carved in only one and even was of oak. The big room closed her doors in 1952, but the Hospital is remained a refuge for the poor ones until 1971. I wish you an excellent weekend.
