Photographer’s Note

Not easy to photograph the cathedral Saint-Etienne of Auxerre for about years. A restoration is begun since 2002, with a first part of works ending in 2009, the totality of the restoration that must spread out over 30 years...After the repair of the roof, the most spectacular begin with the cleaning of stones in the laser which has just begun. I was not able to refrain from taking a picture of this beginning of lifting which makes us rediscover the delicacy of stony sculptures. Not easy to avoid the scaffolds which cover 3/4 of the facade!
The cathedral Saint-Étienne is situated on the left of the photo of Auxerre which I had proposed you 1 year ago
