Built in 1166, it is the subject of a classification as historical monuments since 1840: it is part of the first list of French historic monuments.
This is one of the five most famous Romanesque churches of Auvergne, built in the early twelfth century

Hello Didi,

Je vois que les travaux avec échafaudages extérieurs qui affectaient cette splendeur il y a deux ans sont terminés.
Tu as trouvé ici un très beau point de vue qui place la basilique parmi les maisons du village et permet d'en apprécier les proportions importantes ainsi que sa "romanitude" très affirmée.
j'espère aussi que tu as bien mangé dans le secteur.

Hello Didi,

This is a truly classic composition which is very pleasing indeed. The tower of the church is perfectly placed in the frame against a beautiful verdant background of trees. The overhanging branches on the left frame the picture well too. The colours are wonderfully vibrant, the oblique lighting is superb, the exposure perfect and the details and sharpness exquisite.

Votre faculté de pouvoir pratiquer la lévitation crée ici une image agréable car la basilique semble sertie dans un écrin de verdure, ce qui permet d'admirer sans distraction cette architecture Romanesque.

Perspective puissante. L'enregistrement est très bonne et le charisme, mais la résolution de l'image n'est pas bonne. Très très beau.

Je n'ai jamais réussi à photographier correctement Orcival sous une bonne lumière, devant toujours lutter avec de forts contrastes lumière-ombre. Tu as trouvé le bon POV et le bon moment pour obtenir cette intéressante photo de ce magnifique bâtiment. La netteté est peut-être un peu juste sur l'église?

Les arbres cadrent bien l'église. La prise d evue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture de la basilique. La bonne luminosité met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

I love the way the great architectural patterns -with some help from the superb contrasts- create a fascinating rhythm within the frame. The greenery has its own melody, the two are very different and complement each other wonderfully. Maybe some balance is needed on the right part of the frame. Lighting is marvellous, the lit parts are delightful and the diverse intensities of the shadows enrich the picture. This place is beautiful. Congratulations and thank you!

Je ne connais pas cette eglise mais j admire la facon donc tu l as capture contre la vegetation vert as arriere plan, ou elle se detache pleine de ombres et lumieres

Wow! It still amazed me to see buildings built thousands of years ago still in good condition and in use until today. Here in Nevada a 50 year-old building is considered antic. Nice capture with good lighting and dof with nice details. Very well done, tfs.

Cette photo est passée à la trappe ! je corrige rapidement le tir.
La version large bénéficie évidemment d'un intérêt encore plus important eu égard aux détails, mais il faut reconnaître que ce genre d'édifice est exceptionnel par rapport à la traversée des siècles.
