Photographer's Note
Church of Saint Martin de Brignon Auvergne Haute Loire
The current building is mainly dating from the fifteenth century. It consists of a Romanesque nave of three bays, vaulted, and a polygonal choir. In each of the bays, two side chapels, north and south, open the vessel, those of the third bay transept forming two of these chapels were built in the sixteenth century, others, as well as communications between managed they date back to the nineteenth century. The chorus is three-sided, each with a window and is covered with a vault. The western facade, which ends with a wide comb bell housing four bells, has a Gothic portal, with its top a small carved figurine.
I masked the cables visible on the complementary picture, it was not easy.

Hello Didi,
You have given us an interesting note about this beautifully simple and elegant church and a very fine photograph to illustrate it.
A very well composed picture with lovely soft light and fine true colours and exceptional details and sharpness. And, judging by your complementary picture, you have done a very good and painstaking job in so expertly cloning out those horrid cables!
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Bonsoir, cher ami Didi,

Hi Didi, The cables are not easy to remove, but you did well (but you stull laft some on the right for fun). Nice old church made from unusual dark stone. You could also clone the house on the right, the church would look even better :).
have a nice week

Hello Didi,
Very impressive this massive façade, which does look much better unencumbered by overhead wires. I like the point of view and the contrast made with its whitewashed neighbour. The peerless blue sky makes a superb backdrop for the dark brown stones. Excellent rendering of the tones and textures.

Bonjour, cher ami Didi,
Bien amicalement,
Josep

Hi Didi
Good informative notes which relates to this interesting architectural shot and the history with the lava stones are pretty visible also the effort masking the distracting overhead cable lines and agreed fully that it's not an easy task as I have also experienced. A nice capture where all the vital elements are in place perfectly in brilliant light and subtle colors. You have done a great justice with this capture. Great effort. Hats off!
Warm regards

Bonsoir,

Bonne après-midi
Amicalement

Salam dear Didi,
At the outset, thank you very much for sending in comments about my blogs on Leonardo from the Loire Valley. (Of course, I approved them for publication immediately, having seen that they were written by a discerning reader.)
We both come from lands far more ancient than France, but I appreciate very much the architectural portraits from Medieval and Renaissance France that you share with us.
Warm regards and thank you again,
Bulent

Bonsoir Didi,
nice the view as the contrast of this lava stone's church with the blue of the sky.I like its architectural style, the three bells on the upper part of the bell tower as the beauty of it.

Bonjour cher Didi,
this is a very interesting building with austere architecture and fascinating textures. The angle of your shot places it in a context and shows well how different and imposing it looks in it. The colours and contrasts carry on the impression of austerity effectively and make the picture consistent and attractive. Your work in eliminating the cables is remarkable. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,
Ourania

Hello Didi,
A marvellous deep blue sky backdrop with the belltower and dark stone church adding a good graphic element. Excellent sharpness and smart choice of a vertical frame. Nice textural details in the facade and the road adds good perspective & lead in lines. Tfs!

Salam Didi
The church has a very solid appearance in the facade. The three bell towers look good against the BG of the clear blue sky. The details are finely rendered. I see no reason to clone the wires...they don't disturb! Good work!
Best Regards
Angshu
