Photographer’s Note

A first church is built with the Life century in the honor of the Virgin Mary. Destroyed by the Norman ones in IXe century, it is restored and will be used as a basis for the current Romance church built in XIIe century. Made out of fair arkose (before the opening of the careers of Volvic to XIIe century), the building is marvelously harmonious thanks to its measurements respecting famous "the Golden section". Since 1614 when 8000 people organized a procession the day of the Rise, after one disastrous winter, the procession of first Sunday after May the 15 remains long-lived. The year 1615 brought such a corn abundance that on May 15 was declared festival solemn and been unemployed. The bedside constitutes the most succeeded part of Our-injury-of-Port, even if one misses retreat to seize the proportions fully of them. The crown of the radiating chapels is the base of a pyramid whose top is the point of the octagonal bell-tower (1843).
