I remember this so well! When I visited there I loved the old church. The place we stayed is very close to here. None of my pictures turned out. I remember this ferry. Oh! I like this picture so much! Thank you.

Hi Kari, this one is really good, the long zoom compresses the distances and makes the ferry look the same size as the cathedral... The composition is also great with two objects in the frame nicely balancing each other and the smaller boats providing some "support".
Cheers

Terve Kari,
So now I do get my Silja ! We can see on this image how huge these boats are compared to the other ones in the frame. It seems to be tilting a bit to the left.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Kari,
well composed photo with so many objects in the frame... I like especially contrast between the ferry in the foreground and the buildings in the backgrund and in the other side between big ferry and small boats... You have done excellent job here.
Best regards,

Bonjour kari,
Une véritable ville flottante, impressionnante lorsque l'on se trouve a ses pieds,il semble aussi haut que le batiment en arrière plan, une belle invitation au voyage ou à la croisière.

Kari,
it might be very well that this is in the meantime not the biggest cruiseferry anymore, but it is still huge and impressive. Good use of the telezoom to compress the different levels and giving the illusion that the coloss is almost side to side with the buildings in the background.

Hello Kari,
I like the size of this ship in relation to everything else. I had long time ago taken the Silja Line ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki, and also from Stockholm to Turku. It's a great ship serving great smörgåsbord. As I was traveling on Eurail Pass I did not have to pay for the fare. I was using it as a free "hotel" when I was visiting Stockholm & Turku. Thanks for showing. I'm smiling now with that memory. Warm regards. Latiff.

The 300mm lens really captures the enormity of this ship. I love how it is juxtapositioned next to the buildings on the shore. The boat cutting across the foreground also adds interest. Interesting shot.

Ryan

Hi Kari,
What a great shot of the monster! I like ships, too, but living in a country without seaside I of course very rarely see something like this (I did it in Croatia, though). Absolutely great POV and compo. A slight underexposure (-0.3) might even be greater, but probably it's my personal taste only. Fantastic image with the buildings and smaller ships. Congratulations, hats off. Regards from Hungary, László

Hi Kari,
A big shot of the big ferry, and big contrast with the buildings and small vessels. Very nice.
The other day I didn't tell you my route correctly. I went from Helsinki to Turku by train. And it was there that I got the overnight Silja Line to Stockholm. It was the M/S Wellamo (if I remember well the name). Anyway, either from Helsinki or Turku, your ferry posts bring me good memories :-)

Hello Kari,
As I believe I have said once, you really have beautiful pictures in yor gallery. They look very professional.
This one is another example. The Silja lines connect Helsinki to Tallinn, is this right? Because I think I took one of these to visit the baltic city when I was "up there" :-)
Best regards from Lisbon,

Always a bit shocked by the sheer size of those monstrosious cruisers...
Here... Your lens worked a miracle of making it even scarrier !!!
Will I go on a cruise trip ??
Hmmm...Not really...
Being restricted to the schedules, and places...(???)
Naah..
Yet...Would you, Kari ???
ghreat shot, bro.
Stay afloat (;-)))
