I was in Helsinki on a business trip recently and came across this scene on the Esplanade, Helsinki's own rambla which runs from the harbour up to the city center. It is - even in Scandinavia - not all that common to see women as part of a roadcrew. But with job-equality becoming more and more pronounced I find it great to experience the barriers of our preconceived concepts being broken down. What made me laugh though was the confirmation of another preconceived idea out of the caricature world - the woman working while the man is looking on.
Technically I had to rotate and crop before enhancing a bit. I also had to sharpen both before and after resizing.

Finally a break through, so we men can lean back even more... ;-)
Survival of the fattest, or what was it Jeppe's title was the other day?

Tak for synet!

Great to recognize the Esplanade here. Although I never saw it in the snow and it was a long time ago I was there I recognize it immediately.
You proved with this picture that emancipation in Finland has reached even heavy road constructions.

this is excellent capture, very funny. I like concentrated faces of the men and their boreing eyes into the woman. Good composition and colours.

Too bad the "Women at work" was filled up - Great to see this different kind of woman occupation - You did a very job here - both in capture and PP - my compliment.

In addition to what other people have said about the picture, I have to point out that black man walking away from the scene, almost like the symbol for men's power over such jobs. He could, in a very methaphorical way represent "The Man's" grip walking away... brilliant! And the composition helps with this esplanade and road continuing further and further :)
Of course the FG with these workers, and especially the woman with her easily recognizeable pigtail are essentially perfectly placed!
Congrats for a magnificent composition!
