Photographer’s Note

An old magpie mill built in 1828 in Kurjenkylä. I guess that this is not its original location, since it is situated in a tourist attraction (museum village) by the Herraskoski channel.

Wind mills were once a common sight in the western coast and at least in the western part of the country.
Their historic value was not really realized until 1990's. You could say the same about water mills as well.
I wanted a view where the trees in the background are not behind the wings. In addition, I absolutely needed to cut the ugly lamps around the mill away from the picture. It makes the picture a bit too tight, though.
