Photographer’s Note
Young sailors at the world's biggest four masted barque Sedov at Tall Ships' Race in Turku.
The four masted sail training barque of the University of Murmansk, Sedov, is the vessel on which the young cadets of the university train to become officers, mechanics and radio specialists.
Sedov can accommodate up to 320 people on board among which 75 are crew members, 100 to 120 cadets and in some years, as many as 45 trainees of any nationality to discover life aboard a tall ship. This training takes place during a journey of 3 to 4 months along European coasts and will take advantage of cultural and economic exchanges with the ports.

Privet Kari
They seem to enjoy your photo taking activity, good close framing still giving enough context with the name of this famous ship.
Have a nice day JY

Hi Kari.
Good close-up, perhaps through cropping. It's a delight to see the crew members looking so relaxed and pleased to be in your photo. The name of the boat in Russian below adds lots of interest and a bit of colour to this shot. Well done, and thanks for the interesting note. I actually visited Turku many years ago - 26 years ago, to be precise!

Andrew

Hi Kari, great composition here and I love how you've got the sailors to pose like that. This is a historical shot in my books. It's nice and sharp, well-framed and I love the saturation. Compliments, Lisa.

Hi Kari,
Nice that you included the word "Седов". If not, it would be just a snapshot of the sailors.
Greetings,
F.

Hello Kari! A happy group up there posing for you probably not knowing that they go around the world with us. Love the writing in the lower part and how you composed this shot with them smiling from above, saying hi to us. Very good, very original shot indeed. Have a nice afternoon ... Barbara.

Hi Kari,
Very nice moment. I love it. Sometimes young peopel can be very mean to people for no reason. This group of young man just make me smile, I like the cheerfulness and energy from them. They are very happy to post for you. I like how you also include the name of the sail boatand it create a strong lines that divided the image into three parts. All together make a very strong and compelling compsition of graphic and realistic shot of happy young sailors, the present and future of Finland. I really enjoyed it. Thanks.

Splendid view of these cheerful young sailors who stand out nicely against the vivid blue sky.
Love how the colors change three distinct layers.
Beautiful summer scene.
