Photographer’s Note

The AEC Routemaster is a model of double-decker bus that was introduced in 1954 and produced until 1968. Having been developed in partnership with London Transport, the customer of nearly all new Routemasters was that organisation. Almost 3000 Routemasters were built. Currently Routemasters remain on two heritage routes in central London.

As world known design icons, many Routemasters have found new use all over the world. This one is a mobile pub available for various events. Here seen at the Keskustori (Central Square) of Tampere.

The moment i saw this, i thought this is a shot taken in London. But the place is too clean, and there is no murky cloud. Everybody seems enjoying as much as one likes the sunshine in Suomi. Nice capture of summer light and fresh air.

That's quite a group of icons captured with excellent color and detail; I like the way you are able to combine your love of transportation with a well-framed composition and an interesting note. That is a unique use for a bus; the patrons look like they're having a great time.

I liked this photo very much right from the very first glance :) I don't know why but it conveys a very "festive" mood: it is full of light and bright rich colours and sunshine. Very good composition; and the red bus looks just great in the sun! :)
