Sr2 engines were built 1995-2003 by SLM in Switzerland and assembled in Finland by Transtech. They belong to Lok 2000 engine family, biggest differences from Swiss version being 1524 mm (5 feet) gauge and 25kV, 50 Hz electricity system used in Finland. Design of these engines comes from Italian company Pininfarina, better known for sports car designs.
