Photographer’s Note
Six class Sr2 engines idling at the station of Tampere on Sunday afternoon.
Sr2 engines were built 1995-2003 by SLM in Switzerland and assembled in Finland by Transtech. They belong to Lok 2000 engine family, biggest differences from Swiss version being 1524 mm (5 feet) gauge and 25kV, 50 Hz electricity system used in Finland. Design of these engines comes from Italian company Pininfarina, better known for sports car designs.

This is real Finnish snow is it!? :D I can't resist the colour red and you can't resist the engine. I love the strong perspective leading the eye right down the platform.

Terve Kari,
LOL fine perspective under a delightful winter light but... where do they intend to put the passengers ???
Have a nice evening JY

Hi Kari, I dig the double alliteration (in words and picture elements) here and the juxtapo with the single pedestrian adds narrative interest. An intruiging scene and a very appealing pic.
Have a fine week,
Bert

Terve Kari,
Wow, Sextet-heading! The beautiful engines designed by Pininfarina were nicely captured. Distant steam and the shape of the shadow in the foreground remind me of steam engine. Thanks for sharing.

I wish the foreground shadow hadn't extended to the side of the locomotive, but other than that I like this shot - bright and colourful, and for those who like trains (I used to love trains when I was a kid), interesting subject matter.
I like how the smoke from the chimneys in the background fills what would otherwise have been empty sky.
Cheers,
Ben
