Photographer’s Note
Maybe the most remarkable statue in Tampere is this monument commemorating the shipwreck of steamship Kuru, 7th September 1929. On fierce autumn storm the ship sunk near Siilinkari skerry on lake Näsijärvi, drowning over 100 passengers.
Yes, this is a colour photo. I think cloudy day with some snowing fits with the theme.

Hi Kari, you're right, this statue is remarkable. This poor woman's grief is palpable. I like the way you have shot her, emerging out of the snow like that, and she's lovely and sharp like a 3D image. Great job, Lisa.

Hello Kari,
nice shot of this very expressive statue. Watching this woman and the two children, one can really feel their grief. I like the fact that it looks like a B&W version, even though it is not. It fits very well to the grief-stricken expression of the statue.
Best wishes,
Helmut

I'd be giving someone grief if they made me spend eternity in the driving snow with no heavy coat and two squalling naked babies, too!
Just kidding, nice capture of that statue under the driving snow and good note to match.
Thanks,

Hello Kari,
I think you chose a really very good POV to show the statue from this angle. But the statue itself looks expressive; it embodies strong emotions and looks very realistic. I see the snow falling, surrounding it, and this adds more dynamism.
