Photographer’s Note
Here in north every spring is the time to throw away your "winter fur", as we call it. That basically means that you have to throw yourself in the ice cold lake that has just melted. That way you won't have to carry your heavy and hot fur all summer and can actually enjoy the warmth. (For the people from the United States: No, we don't wear furs in winter, that's just a metaphor)
(Darn, it's tilted. Well, I'll change that some other day)

This is a Nice Capture. The Colours which are come out are really nice. But the Sky above the top is overexposed

Hi Anu,
A wonderful mood, great atmosphere. And for the note, i never heard about that, but very interesting to read.
You composition skills are high, just as your eye to frame a picture.
A great shot in beautiful light. On the top a bit over-exposed, but that does not really bothers me, the mood and colours in this one is what counts...and they are just fantastic.
Excellent work...like it a lot.

hej anu,
who said you cant photograph? you? dont be so modest. why would one think like that? your picture includes fine elements.
1. wonderful color tones
2. sharpness
3. uniqueness
4. nature - no man made objects involved (generally hurts the eye)
5. a pretty woman :)
so i think thats an excellent photo. i am very curious about finland, planning to see...
take care

A bigininng of happy time, Anu
I like the title, the metaphor, the meaning and a good moment in your picture. That means now, the happiness is coming.
Enjoy a good time.

Great photo, Anu. It's as if she has just emerged from below the surface of the water. I like the ripples and the soft (morning?) light. Everything here seems fresh. Good work.

Hi Anu,
A fantastic image which captures the attaention. The fact that there is a touch of warm orange light on the woman's back is the highlight of the photo. Your colour tones and composition are spot on. Really well done.
Cheers Grant

Hi Anu,
Fantatsic shot. The composition is perfect and and colours are beautiful. I like the combination of the strong sillohettes of the trees with the gentle lighting on the woman's back.
You captured the lighting on the water and reflections beautifully too.
Bravo :)

Anu,
A pretty remarkable phot here. I love the colors and the scene you've captured makes it fit a magazine advertisement or something. You're right about the tilt, but it's still great.
Wonderful work here!

Hi Anu,
Nice capture - especially for one who cannot photograph!
Wonderful colors and nice wide view of the lake. The combination of the girl on the right and the trees on the left make for a great composition.
Great work with fantastic mood!

Hi Anu!
this is GREAT photo. Nice colours, depth and composition. What impressed me the most was the humourous note. I have to deal with temperatures of more than 40 degrees by these months! :) And dont worry about the tilt, it can be barely noticed.

Hi Anu,
The picture is remarkable, even with the minor drawbacks of the overexposed sky, something only a neutral density graduated filter would correct or even a bracketed exposures (one to capture the pond and the lady, and the other to correctly expose the sky), and the tilt, absolutely remittable and easily correctable. The magic of the scene, as Grant has said, is all about the interaction between the human element and the nature, which is elicited by the pertinent note. The subdued and almost duotoned scene adds a wonderful mood to the real interest of the picture, which is the beautifuly lighted girl and the ripples she is creating as she, one can guess, is languidly entering the pond. The simplicity of silhouettes and colors are great and the subject is alluring.

Dear An,
I really like the feeling of this picture - cool air, probably rather cold water and northern nature - lake and small island full with trees - northern sky - this is truly place where human being can join the nature in a most harmonic way; and this is in your picture.
I don't know what the feeling would be if the light would be different, but like it is now - it is great!
best wishes,
Maria

Hej Anu
I could say this looks very finnish but I go further and say it looks very Nordic.
It is a very good picture, it almost have a mythical mood, you know! the "man and nature" thing, the comp is excellent with the pinetree islet as a siluette of georgaphical area.
and the format and framing works very ewell
my only objection is "sleepy" terrible typeface and a word that disturb the picture.

I don't know why but my first thought was: "Darn, this shot would make such a nice Nightwish CD cover" ;-)Maybe because of the colours, maybe because of the atmosphere...
Anyway, I like this composition - nicely divided between water and sky, the trees as the couterweight for this charming person ;-)Best regards
Joanna
PS. I didn't even notice it's tilted. Seriously!
