Photographer’s Note

The northern end of the main pedestrian street of Jyväskylä, Finland at 5 o'clock in the morning, an hour before the sunrise. It's a small inland town about 300 km north of Helsinki, the capital. Jyväskylä's municipal population is about 84 000, but only 23 000 or so actually live in the city area. The town is very lively (although not at this time of the day) - definitely thanks to the large student population. Students and school-goers make up half of the municipality population.
