Photographer’s Note

Two weeks ago I finally visited Liesjärvi National Park, a place, which I had wanted to see for a long time. The weather was ideal for a nature walk along well marked paths. There were hints of fall colours here and there, but otherwise the nature looked more like one of a late summer.
One of the interesting places to see and walk along is the narrow Kyynärharju ridge, which separates two lakes and is cut only by a small strait, almost just a brook, about at the middle point of the ridge. A tiny walking bridge crosses the strait. This photo is taken along the ridge.

Liesjärvi National Park is located in the Häme Lake Uplands. This area is a rugged backwoods surrounded by fertile fields. Shores and beaches dominate the scenery. They encircle four adjoined lakes and a couple mire ponds. Even though the park is small in area (21 sq.km) there are almost 50 km of forested shore-line. Adding to this already varied terrain are Kyynäränharju, a sandy shored ridge which separates Lakes Liesjärvi and Kyynäräjärvi, and around 40 islands and islets.

You can see the place where we left our car as a blue arrow in this map . We walked north from this point along Kyynäränharju ridge.

Hallo Lasse!
What an inviting hiking trail and what a wonderful light atmosphere and depth! I like this scenery with its natural colours very much and it must be a real pleasure to walk along there. I really would like to step into the photo now ... ;-)) Interesting map view!

Hej Lasse,
This is really a place where I would like to walk! A path along this ridge, a typical harju, once form by the inland ice! There is really nothing in our Nordic landscape that is not created during the ice age, from these typical ridges to the very flat and abraded rocks in our archipelago. This is really an extremly pleasant surrounding!

Hej Lasse,
A lovely picture with a fantastic light, gently filtered through the trees, and also very good depth. Like others before me I feel a longing for walking on this narrow road through the typical Nordic forest. Again you have managed to capture a great atmosphere in a seemingly simple composition.

Ah! This is just one of the photos I liked best in Everytrail!
I like very much the fine sense of perspective and depth created by those rows of trees and the play of lights and shades. The good exposure allows all the interesting details to be very clear. The path too is so defined that one must really watch out for those obstacles! (:-)
Fine late summer atmosphere. Surey a good composition.

The central composition is not harmful to this shot. The light was not easy for the alternation of light and shadow. The result is very pleasing.

I am so awfully sorry to be so late with expressing my opinion about this very lovely, very pleasant view - as always, you choose relaxing, interesting scenes which Nature offers us, and you create an artwork of it in a photo, in your turn :)
the path looks very inviting, and the game of light and shadows creates a jolly mood :)
The composition is excellent -as always!
Now you haven't been very active on TE. How's life??

Seems like a fine autumn day in the forest!
Regretfully we haven't had many of them in my place this year, very wet and chilly weather...
I notice the fine play of light, and the path takes me nicely into the frame!

beautiful image of this path in the wood, with the colors in a summer that it ends and the autumn that starts. The vertical elements of the trees give a pleasant perspective and a good depth of field.
