Photographer’s Note

Exactly one year ago I posted my first photo to TE. I could not have imagined how fast TE became an addiction. Neither could I imagine how many friendship bonds would I get here. It has been very rewarding to learn with every visit something new about our world via the photos and the accompanying notes. Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos! Thanks also for looking at my photos and giving instructions, friendly comments and constructive critiques.

For this special day I selected a photo from my favourite hiking area, Nuuksio Lake Uplands.

The photo is from my spring walk two weeks ago. I am here in Nuuksio National Park. This part of it belongs to Vihti municipality, but Espoo, my city, starts just behind the trees on the background. The name of the lake is Suolikas. I have shown it earlier for example in this photo, but that time taken from an another point and to another direction.

Hej Lasse,
A beautiful photo and a very interesting note about TE and its addiction. I can agree with everything you say (some weeks ago I met a TE friend in "reality" for the first time, a very positive occasion). The photo here shows the typical Nordic lake, could be anywhere in Finland, Sweden or Norway!

Hello Lasse,

A place full of serenity. A nice view too with the rocks in the FG,on the left, which give a great depht to the image. The reflections in teh water are superb and give a pleasant impression of symetry.

Happy anniversary in TE Lasse! A very fruitful year during which you have shown us the beauties of your land. You have chosen a fine photo to celebrate this day, a photo not only beautiful and tecnically perfect but also with a feeling. The transparency of the water and the reflections are superb and together with the special light create a unique atmosphere. Two things impress me most. The great sense of depth and the play of shades and lights which give a tridimensional effect. I feel like being there on the shore of that fine lake...

About the best Southern Finland has to offer. Small lake with rocky shores. Nice sunshine and plenty of spring freshness. Good framing where fg and bg are in balance.

Hello Lasse,
your "anniversary" photo is as beautiful as the rest of those which you have posted here! I always enjoy the way you see and present the Nature's simple sonders to us (with excellent composition, of course) :)
The beautiful reflection of the trees in the water (on the right) is a pefect balance for the "heavy" left side. On the whole, this photo makes a very light, positive impression :)

very beautiful capture of this fascinating lake. The colors are wonderful and the perspective is excellent. What a wonderful piece of nature!
Concerning your note I agree to you and to Gunnar. Before joining TE I had no idea of the addiction potential of this site!

This is an overall interesting, beautiful - and personal contribution which I like very much - especially the note! The shown really near to nature landscape is so different from mine. It transmits calm and it seems to rest in itself. Wonderful!

Congratulations for the anniversary. It has been a pleasure "meeting" you and I hope we can enjoy each other photos for a long time.

It's a beautiful view, very well composed, very peaceful and with a lovely naturality in the colours and light. I'd probably have the temptation of making that sky more alive, but you did the right thing keeping it like that.

I'm delighted by this capture. Very nice place!
You managed quited well the stark contrasts and the sky got not too washed out. I wonder if using a polariser would have brought out more of the stones below the water surface...

On of many beautiful Finnish lakes!
This is the kind of view that is very familiar to me too, as we have many lakes like this around where I live...
A well balanced composition with good depth, and the early summer colours are well reproduced!
