Photographer’s Note

Here is another photo from Fiskarsinmäki hill, which I showed you in my previous photo. The wood anemones were in their full white glory.
In WS you can see another photo taken just a few hundred meters north from the hill in on a low-lying ground, which was once sea bottom. The birch is the dominating tree in that place.

God morgon Lasse,
A nice slope covered with "vitsippor" and trees, that form a graphical pattern. A fine blue sky behind and very attractive light green ground. A real spring conception!

I'm getting onto the comparison value of different shots of the same place which are in WS. I find this shot much more dramatic in that it emphasizes the wood anemones. The shadows lend depth to the shot, so I am drawn into the scene more easily in this shot.

Yes, that's spring! One nearly cannot show it more beautiful. You have caught a beautiful light here which gives additional interest to the scenery. Really beautiful!

Hello Lasse,
the white little flowers scattered on the ground make the whole scene look even more cheerful :) Actually, to me these anemones seem to be the most important element in this photo which is filled with sunshine and shadows.
And as usual, a very good WS compementary photo!

This is magical! Wood anenomes were always my favorite as a child on spring vacations in Cornwall -- but I've never seen a carpet like this. I love the depth of your image and the gentle light and shadows. They invite one to explore -- and tread carefully!

Together with the fine light this flowers carpet makes the photo lively and appealing, in spite of the quite uniform environment. It's so sharp and clear that every thin tree trunk is distinctely separated from the others, so creating a good sense of depth. But in my opinion the light is the main and best feature of this photo. I like the ws too, you are right it's complementary, where it's possibile to see the typical whitish bark of the birches.
It seems you are enjoying your walks again...

Hej Lasse,
Oh, this is my childhood once again. So many resemblances between Finland and Sweden. We used to pluck these white anemones and bring them home to Mummy (I'm talking half a century ago). These carpets of anemones are wonderful, especially when the sun shines through the filter of the still almost bare trees, as in this fine picture.

this is Scandinavian spring per excellence! Wonderful management of the light and very pleasant colors. In Schleswig-Holstein these flowers were not allowed to unfold their blossoms this year since it was too warm and the sunshine was too bright. TFS!
