Approaching Helsinki on the Silja Line Ferry I saw this porthole and thought it would make a good frame for a photo. A pity the view is flat but time did not allow for waiting around for a better subject. This ferry trip was part of an overland journey to St Petersburg in Russia and then returning to the UK via the Baltic States. A different currency practically every day as well as having to put hours on on our watches and then having to take it off again as we returned. All great fun.

Interesting composition ! It may be cropped a little tighter... The scan quality is very good.
Nice work !

The scenery reminds me of I. Lilius' books, that i like very much and your description of a place corresponds with their subject.

Bonne composition. Dommage que le paysage ne soit pas à la hauteur du cadre.
