Photographer's Note
this is the former county prison of Katajannokka in central Helsinki. The building in the Philadelphia style is from the 1830ties and was used as a prison from 1837 to 2002. Today it is a Best Western 4 star Hotel, keeping the prison theme alive throughout the whole hotel. Even the staff wear black and white striped uniforms.

Hmmm, great idea, maybe fellows from SF Bay should think about it and turn the Alcatraz into a "sleeping bag" hotel or at least a tent campsite...
Well done, enjoy the interior colours !!!

Hi dear Daniel

Best perspective shot. Deep exposure and slow shutter speed contributes to this clear and fresh image. Thanks for your sharing with finest work and have a good weekend!

Hello Daniel,
The most infamous Swedish former prison is now a hotel and hostel in central Stockholm. These 19th century prisons were often very fine buildings so it's a great idea to convert them into something useful. This is an fine photo which could be seen with two sets of eyes, one pair imagining the horror felt by the prisoners among the loud noise in the unfriendly atmoshere, the other pair of eyes only sees the interesting solution for a modern hotel.

Gert

Really interesting POV here, Daniel, with the staircase expressing movement through an otherwise stationary scene. Good lighting coming down from the windows, with interesting color and presentation. There's a VERY slight tilt down to the right, but it doesn't detract from the interesting lines, symmetry or repetition of the shot.

Hi Daniel,
A certainly different architecture shot. Sturdy construction of the old prison has lots of details. Those light colours go together well. Symmetric framing is a good choice here.

Hello Daniel!
Your photo is very interesting, composed with good light and good graphical way! Fascinating idea of a luxury hotel housed in a former prison! I guess they have enlarged the "rooms"! Very curious! Great inspiration, congratulations!
Best regards, Nino.

Hi Daniel
A different and rare upload of a grand interior shot from excellent viewpoint, so pin sharp with splendid details in superb clarity. A fine interior architecture well taken in good tones, depth, contrast and wonderful ambient however this is probably the last place on earth most of us would want to spend the night. Excellent capture and well presented, Well done, TFS.
Best regards

Hallo Daniel,
Elvira
