Photographer’s Note
Why would Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea) be entitled to be the TrekEarth bird?
Quotes from Wikipedia:
"The Arctic Tern is famous for its migration; it flies from its Arctic breeding grounds to the Antarctic and back again each year. This 19,000 km journey each way ensures that this bird sees two summers per year and more daylight than any other creature on the planet. The average Arctic Tern in its life will travel a distance equal to going to the moon and back."
As a true cosmopolitan this bird didn't let a paparazzi to disturb fishing. It hovered two metres above the water against strong wind almost motionless, showing the skills that are needed to cross the oceans.

Hi Kari,
you caught very well and very sharply this marvellous bird. I like very much the contrast and the blurred background.

Hi Kari,
Excellent detail, the soft background gives context without competition. I love shot of birds in flight, it's one time that the camera sees more than the eye/brain can percieve. I've added to the Birds in Flight theme. Great note!! Clearly this fellow qualifies as a trekker.

Not so easy to get this shots of birds in flight Kari. Here you did well with a fast shutter you was able to freeze the movement in a good way. Good details of the bird perfectly set to the blurred background.

Hi Kari
Great catch... Very sharp and very good compo.
Needs a bit more brightness on that Arctic Tern face and eyes and it would be perfect … but it’s as a said a great catch.
