Photographer’s Note

There are some places in my city Espoo, where I tend to return over and over again. One is the rapids of Mankinjoki river, which changes its appearance with seasons and with its water level variations. This photo shows the rapids at its steepest run one week ago, after a cold period, which had helped the rapids to gain an ice cover. Recent snows had added a snow cover too. One could hear the water rushing down the rapids under the ices. The photo was taken at almost the same spot, where I took this photo in last autumn. The one arch stone vaulted museum bridge from year 1778 is shown on the background.
