Photographer’s Note
Suokumaanjoki in its full, lush, verdant summer greenness. This smlaa river has its beginning in Konnunsuo, that used to be the largest marshland in southern Finland before it was systematically dried ie. destroyed for the sake of progress during the 1950-60´s. The river runs to a small lake of Suokumaanjärvi half of which has been on Russian side since the 1944 when that territory was annexed by the Soviet Union.
