It is view from window of Olavlinna Castle in Savonlinna, eastern Finland. It is really lake region.
You can see straight Kyronsalmi connecting two big lakes Haapavesi and Pihlajavesi. Picturesque town Savonlinna is situated on islands between two lakes.

so, this is exactly the way the medieval people saw this area - through this window? but of course, without the modern bridges and other modern stuff like boats etc :)
Интересный взгляд "изутри"; да и, наверное, трудненько было настройки сделать для снимка, чтоб и "внутренность" видна была не слишком темной, и даль просматривалась чётко?
