Photographer’s Note
Ice fishing on the lake Höytiäinen. There's not much to see, but this shows that Easter traditions in Finland are not quite the same as rest of Europe. And while more southern countries show flowering meadows, we still have vast ice fields.
Inspired by 'No Line on the Horizon' of U2, showing that even a banally minimalistic view can be an album cover.

Hi Kari.
Nice compo with that man there, alone. Excellent to "break" the landscape.
Well done!

Hello Kari,
Very good composition to show the loneliness of this place with the fisherman like in the middle of the lake.
Good exposure too with detail in the sky colors.

Hello Kari.
An excellent shot. Under my strictly personal taste, I'd have preferred the human figure turned towards the center of the shot.
Anyway great.
Best regards.
Bobo.

Hi Kari, so much space!!! I like the simplicity and minimalistic approach of your composition. Yes, I saw the title and reminded me of U2s new album. TFS, Alex

Great one Kari! I am surprised that this one is not yet in some minimalistic theme... It's so good. I really love the duotoned cold blues and your horizon in the middle. And that lonely guy sited there is priceless. Love it!

Todella upea kuva Kari!
Onnittelut, Pekka.

Hi Kari, this minimalist photo is so eye-catching. The lone fisherman against all that expanse of snow is just stunning - and is something I will never witness myself. So thank you, you have rendered it beautifully for us, Lisa.

Hi Kari
As minimalist as wonderful. I like a lot the line on the horizon, how you balanced it and the person alone
Very good photojob

Hello Kari! YES ... this is how I like it, maybe because we live so crowded together in middle Europe. I have heard that the U2 cover was photographed at the Bodensee actually, wonder if this is true. Excellent work, Kari, you cannot show emptyness any better with the lonely fisherman and how the horizon merges with the ice cover with just a little bit of forest making a line. I am impressed. Happy Sunday evening, greetings from Benno too ... Barbara.

Hi Kari,
a fantastic composition that reminds me of the work of the Surrealists. A very amazing atmosphere of the icefishing, excellently captured, looking at it for a longer time makes me shiver. The light and the colors are excellent too. TFS!
Warm regards

Hello Kari. What for a fantastic photo. It works in its organization nearly abstractly. But the few picture elements are in the best way combined. The photo is an aesthetic work of art. Compliment. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Kari,
Well, I guess I'm one of those who likes banal minimalism - not always east to find around my way - so perhaps I'm naturally drawn to the great sense of empty space, and the idea that these still a little bit of surface we've yet to fill!
Cheers

Hello Kari
this minimalist composition has caught my eye while looking at your gallery. Its monochromatic touch is very powerful, very evocative. It ha some sort of "Fargo" touch to it.
Congratulations
Emmanuel
