Photographer's Note
Embraer 190 of Finnair at the airport of Joensuu.
Lots of Finns fly to southern holiday destinations in winter months. Those who are not familiar with Northern climate no doubt think that major reason for this is cold weather. But at least for me it is only secondary, after darkness. There's just a few daylight hours, and especially November and December are very cloudy.
Towards spring, amount of light rises and March is almost opposite, with plenty of sunshine reflecting from white snowfields.

Terve, Kari,
This is very familiar scene from travel life. An interesting report, good illustration of your note. Thanks, I have to listening The Animals once again. I just don't remember this song.
Best wishes,
Serghei

Hello Kari!
I loved the note and the picture!
I love cold weather, but extreme temperatures and other conditions must be tough!

Kari
I feel exactly like this! For me it is the snow at the moment - there is enough light for photography but it isn't great! You are capturing the gloomy feeling and the desire for getting away very well with this shot. Enjoy ur holiday in Hong Kong.

Hello Kari,
a good song, and a good title for this photo. Along with the semi-darkness and the windswept snowy ground it tells the whole story. As another Northener I find this picture quite emotional.
Best regards, and have a nice trip,
Gert

Hi Kari !!
I like the title which enhances the message of the photo..... it really makes a lot of sense.
The picture is well frame and the insufficient light make the image more interesting.
Good composition and great idea.
have a nice Sunday.
Cheers from Moss Vale

Hi Kari
No doubt you have already landed in HK and I hope you're enjoying yourself, keeping warm and enjoying the light. I've read about the long days of darkness that Finland and countries near it experience. I've also read about the effect that has on the human hypothallamus gland, which makes for interesting reading and explains why the Swedish backpackers go so nuts here ;) Anyway, to your photo. A sensational Blue Hour, wonderfully contrasted plane and superbly judged exposure.
Enjoy your trip, thanks for sharing

Hi Karis,
The wideness of the tarmac is giving depth to the composition. The presence of the people is giving life to the scene. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the Emabre ERJ-190 of Finnair. Have a nice day.
Pierre
