Photographer’s Note
In the Åland archipelago we met this beauty.
I beleive it is the "Linden", which was built in Ålands main city Mariehamn during 1990-93.
It took 1000 pines, 50.000 nails, 1000 liters of tar and 40.000 man hours to build her.
The original was from 1920.
No PP, just a frame.
One could argue if the shot is good, I don't know - maybe it is the memory of meeting her that is.

Hi Magnus,
For a moment I thought I did see this ship at sail 2005. But when I searched my photo´s I found the I was mistaken bij `de Linde`
This beautiful boat wouldn´t suit ill on sail and is very welcome on Sail 2010 with its captain Magnus von Schenck

Hi Magnus,
A well composed and outstanding rendering of this stately ship. "Linden" is a well known name in the Canadian hockey world, as our former team captain and head of the NHL Players Association is Trevor Linden. I wonder if the name is of Swedish origin? I like the detailed view of every part of the ship and the reflection cast. Good contrast and lighting to make the shot special and come alive. Very well captured.

Nice colors and contrast. You got the right exposure, as it's quite difficult to shot white things on a sunny day. Well done.

Hej Magnus,
Det her er noget man med rette kan kalde for en 'sailing beauty'! Hun ligger der meget elegant i vandet. Og billedets farver er også meget fine!
Bedste hilsner,

Wow! Somebody needs to find Sophie and tell her about this one. She'd love it! I do as well. This was taken in the mid-afternoon on a day in July, yet the light is wonderful. I can only guess it is because you're so far above the equator as you take this photo, thus changing the angle of the sun. The colors are wonderfully warm. The fact you achieved this without post processing is both a tribute to your skills, the excellence of that Zeiss lens and some fine conditions. The only element that doesn't work for me is the heavy frame. I'd opt either for a white frame or a narrower black frame. I understand those are very personal choices however, so I'll respect yours... ;-)

Hi Magnus. No argument here, this shot is most certainly good. It's striking with the white boat and sails contrasted against the dark blue sky and water. This POV let's us see the sailboat in all of its beauty. Very nice one Magnus!

Hej Magnus,
I see you have changed your introduction:)
Beautiful photo. The quality is excellent. The white tones of the ship and its sails stand out very well againt the blue blue sky and the blue water. Although white and blue normally are cold colours, the photo has a warm atmosphere.

Hi Magnus, I like your modesty attitude. It is a fashion to show the old fashion sail boats these few days. I wish I have one to show off. I do like this postcard style crispy clear shot for “Linden”. A well taken picture with nice tight frame, clear and sharp image. Good to show it is on the move. Beautiful background as well.

Hi Magnus,
it's difficult to see a sailing boat like this nowadays. Yes it's really beautiful.
I like this candid white sails on deep blue sky.

Hi Magnus, this is a really fine capture of this tall ship. The light is excellent, and combined with the brwon mast they the sails make a perfect match.
It IS a beautiful ship, too bad it didn't go to sail 2005,

Beautiful light and a very well handled exposure here, Magnus. The gradients on the hull and sales are very subtly rendered and the central compo is a must.
Great job!

Bonjour Magnus,
Amicalement.

Wow Magnus, that's a beauty... A pic for dreaming !
Very good exposure, with so many white areas it was a true challenge !
I just wonder whether you used a polarizer filter, the sky seems a bit dark above.
Excellent anyway !

Hi Magnus,
There's something magnificent about this white schooner (?) set against the rich colour of the sky/sea. Although the ship looks immaculate, I like the small shadows of the rigging(? - excuse my ignorance) against the sails. A wonderful imgae.
