La iglesia de la Cruz Sagrada de Kuusamo fue terminada en 1951 y construida para sustituir la vieja iglesia de madera, construida en 1800 y destruida durante la guerra en 1944. La nueva iglesia fue diseñada por el arquitecto Bertil Liljeqvist. Tiene 48 metros de largo y 18.5 metros de alto. El pasillo de la iglesia alberga a 800 personas. Los órganos son de 1991 y están hechos por Veikko Virtanen.

The Holy Cross church of Kuusamo was completed in 1951 and was built to replace the old wooden church, built in 1800 and destroyed during the war in 1944. The new church was designed by architect Bertil Liljeqvist. It is 48 metres long and 18,5 metres high so called 'long church'. The church hall is seated for 800 people. The organs was build in 1991 and they are made by Veikko Virtanen
