Somewhere on the border between Lappi and Oulu on the way to Kuusamo, part of the road is a temporary airport, a rare occasion in Europe when a small country road develops into a huge runway and then shrinks again...

In my country one does not see images of these.
A wonderful winter scene presented here. The image of the winter are always very spectacular and lovely for looking,but pitying for the cold period :)

Hello David! No kidding, they land on this one, I mean it is very well landable (I don't fly myself but very often I sit on the passenger seat of a Cessna). What an exciting place to make a landing. Great photo, I truly love it, and the blue tones are again so wintery and the inclusion of the truck is a great feature and gives us an idea of the dimensions out here. Fantastic photo ... goes into my favorites ... Barbara ... flies :))))

Hi David,
You have several simple scenes from Northern Finland that I like. This has strong perspective. The truck is perfectly placed and tyre tracks make nice texture on the snow.

Very descriptive image of what I supposed to be on winter time last summer when I went to Lapland.

Composition and colours are great, the truck helps to understand the image. Very well done.
