A lonely man sitting on a huge frozen lake. Icefishing is one of the favorite's occupation of local people there. It's worth trying but be prepared for the cold!

a very masterpiece! the big white field and the dark sky made a sad atmosphere and became silent the landscape, the trees give an idea of endless wood, perfect the man in the middle.

Hello Didier! I fell in love with this photo the other day. It is wonderful, the long view over the ice with the man in front of his water hole. I am not into ice fishing and I sometimes wonder what brings people to a frozen lake waiting in front of a hole being cold and miserable but this is my city view, used to overheated rooms. Excellent composition with the dark forest in the background and some sky left. Black white works fantastic, cooling down the atmosphere a little further ... and this works totally well. Hi Didier, I like this very much, an unusual subject, the feeling of vast countryside, of lonely work is so strong. Great choice of b/w, it enhances the aesthetics and graphism of the composition. I love that forest in the bg and the tiny silhouette of the man. The rather dramatic sky adds to the overall feeling. My opinion is that the man would be better places a bit more on the right side, and not centered like here.

Hi Didier,

this is one powerful photo! I love it.
The ambient, the cold that delivers...the solitude and unfriendly scenery...and one man. Alone. Like a small black dot in the middle of nowhere. Photo that touches you also on symbolic level.

Hi Didier,
After your Magnumesque running kid by the pool photo, i was looking in your gallery and found this one! This is a true gem, very moody in its B&W tonality, abstract minimalism, and powerful composition. One of those rare photos in TE lately, which i find truly speaking to my soul. Bravo!
