Photographers Note
I thought this shot against the light of the fascinating halo effect would be a nice picture in BW.
Itīs taken by the riverside downtown Tornio where I live and I had to "run around" in the deep snow, the sweat was flooding as I was looking for viewing angles. Itīs always a hurry when something appears in the sky, one canīt hesitate as it can be gone within some few seconds. Anyway I had to plan and be careful not leaving any foot prints in the snow to be shown in the photo, I have learned from my mistakes. Itīs really boring with fotprints in the snow from a human being in a shot full of magic.
I was standing in the snow up to my tighs when having this shot and I thought I can create the right feeling in the post processing if the camera doesnīt capture it in the way that I felt about it.
Because of the special circumstances I allowed myself to change the light and contrast quite a lot and I did sharpen the focus 100 % just to touch up the picture with a little bit mysterious feeling as the lapland landscape felt really magic at this moment. I hope you accept it as I donīt like my photography to look too faked.

Moi!
Nice choice to shoot this photo in B&W.
Small tip about footprints in the snow : you can put directly the camera on the snow. The foreground will be blurred or not, depending on the wanted effect and the footprints will be hidden. It can also give a nice effect if the sun reflects on the ice-crystals. I have some examples that I will post later on TE.
Anyway good photo!
Arnaud
